Also, just an FYI, unless we know each other or are in a game setting, I'd prefer to not play off of Erics in a romantic capacity. That already happens in canon, and I like to explore new opportunities in RP. Sorry! Crosscanon/crossovers are an automatic yes, come at me bro. However, I do have an oddly specific request - when it comes to playing against teenage characters (19ish and under), I prefer male characters from live action or western animated/comic canons, not those from anime or jrpgs. This isn't a hard and fast rule, and there are exceptions, like Free! or Yuri on Ice. For older characters, there are no medium preferences.

Brave, adventurous, and undaunted, Ariel represents everything that has lured people to the high seas in the first place. Her passion is as fiery red as her hair, and she loves with all her of heart. Of course, all of this leads to her being every bit of a handful.
As the youngest of seven daughters, she's been doted on her whole life and is spoiled, but not in the snobbish sense of the word. No, she's kind and views everyone (and I mean everyone) as equals, and goes out of her way to make friends. Rather, she is spoiled in the sense that she does what she pleases without much thought. And what she pleases has to do with humans. Humans, humans, humans; those "barbaric fish-eaters," as her father calls them. Ariel has been in love with the human world since she realized it existed. It encapsulates what she adores: freedom, exploration, and determination. More than anything, she wants to be "part of that world," especially since she saved a handsome young prince from a shipwreck and finally got her first taste of what humans are like up close. This won't be something she'll easily let go of, either, as she can be as stubborn and hard-headed as the best of them. While being extremely open-minded when it comes to people and experiences, she can be a bit convinced that she knows better than others about some things...mostly her old fogey dad. That may just come with being a young person, though.
Needless to say, Ariel can get wrapped up in her own world and ideas. While not being "dumb" (though she doesn't have the book smarts of Belle or the wit and resourcefulness of Rapunzel), she does tend to be a bit short-sighted. However, while she's not exactly a "clever miss" or a deadpan snarker, she has a few little teenage quips here and there, especially towards Sebastian. She's also learned the way to work people.
She also doesn't have quite the sense of awareness others do, which in combination with a lack of accurate knowledge about human customs can lead to hilarious misunderstandings. Looking foolish isn't a strong concept to her. On the other hand, she's fairly adaptable and learns customs fairly quickly given the correct information, so she can be retroactively embarrassed- to some degree. But with her tendency to play things off and not let them get her down (don't confuse this resilience with the complete inability to get sad or overdramatic, which she can be as any teenager can be), unless it's something world-shattering.
And while, as previously stated, she loves with all her heart, she also loves dangerously and unwisely...as well as at the peril of those she cares about. This often comes with unpleasant results; at worst, because of her father's station, her "simple" actions can change the whole tide. |

| - "You're not getting cold fins now, are you?"
- "Flounder, don't be such a guppy."
- "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Have you ever seen anything so wonderful in your entire life?"
- "Music? Oh, the concert! Oh my gosh, my father's gonna kill me!"
- "Daddy, they're not barbarians!"
- "I'm sixteen years old - I'm not a child anymore -"
- "If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things - could be bad."
- "No, look! He's breathing. He's so beautiful."
- "I gotta see him again - tonight! Scuttle knows where he lives. I'll swim up to his castle. Then Flounder will splash around to get his attention, and then with -"
- "Why don't you go tell my father? You're good at that."
Less "teenybopper" than Rapunzel in her voice (no "likes," kinda, asides, etc etc). More generalized, but not antiquated or prim like the older princesses. Basically, a typical teenager voice and word choices. |
